“What is the difference between digital marketing and traditional marketing?”
My journey began with a presentation built around this question. The answer interested me, but I became more curious about the professional field behind it — how technology was changing commerce, communication and customer decisions.
That curiosity led me to research digital marketing independently, and eventually choose it as my academic and professional direction.
Choosing Marketing and E-commerce before it became a common degree path
When it was time to choose my university specialisation, I searched for a degree that connected marketing, technology and online commerce.
I joined the first cohort of a newly introduced Marketing and E-commerce programme at my university, when specialised digital-marketing education was still uncommon in Egypt.
I didn't specialise before understanding the whole system
I entered the industry in 2016 and developed practical experience across content, social media, creative direction, SEO, websites, research, reporting and client communication.
That multidisciplinary foundation taught me that campaign performance never depends on one platform alone. It is shaped by the strategy, message, creative, audience, offer, landing experience, measurement and follow-up process working together — including practical knowledge of how interface and user-experience decisions influence marketing performance.
From executing activities to connecting a growth system
From 2019, my work became increasingly focused on performance media, analytics and conversion optimisation. My role evolved from executing individual activities to connecting channels, data, technology and customer experience around measurable business outcomes.
Most of my professional journey has been developed inside multidisciplinary digital-marketing agencies
Working across clients, industries and markets strengthened my ability to learn quickly, manage priorities, communicate with stakeholders and coordinate specialist teams.
It also taught me to balance ambitious client expectations with data, commercial reality and responsible recommendations.
Different industries, not always the same role or level of responsibility
My experience spans a wide range of sectors, with varying roles and levels of responsibility in each:
The learning never stops.
Digital marketing has never been a static profession. Platforms, measurement, technology and customer behaviour continue to evolve — and the rise of AI has accelerated that change.
I still learn, test and develop my skills every day. For me, experience is not about relying only on what I learned during the past decade. It is about combining that foundation with the curiosity and adaptability required to remain relevant today and prepare for what comes next.
A decade of experience has given me a strong foundation — but continuous learning keeps that experience relevant.
Today, I work as a Performance Growth Strategist, connecting media, data, SEO, technology, customer experience and commercial strategy.
I connect these capabilities to improve acquisition efficiency, customer journeys, lead quality and revenue — not simply to manage separate channels.
Understanding individual channels matters — but the real value comes from connecting them into one complete growth system, rather than treating each as a separate activity.
My story is still being written. Perhaps the next chapter starts with your growth challenge.
